DESCPRIPTION OF PROJECT
Comprehensive update of the traffic model on the basis of former studies.

This update was based on a large-scale traffic study with roadside interviews and traffic counts. After data analysis and interpretation, the traffic demand for the area could be determined. The final traffic model was established by integrating the collected data into the digitalised supraregional road network model.

On the basis of traffic assignment calculations according to the "equilibrium assignment", the traffic loads in the project area could be demonstrated.

For the evaluation of the traffic loading / traffic relief effects of the proposed federal highway between Breisach and Freiburg, a traffic forecast was implemented considering general and regional development aspects.

Subsequently, the loading and relief effects of several traffic planning options could be demonstrated.
