Traffic survey for the city of Neustadt / Germany
Traffic composition for the city of Neustadt
Traffic composition for the city of Neustadt
DESCPRIPTION OF PROJECT
In addition to cramped road conditions and a high traffic volume in general, residents in Neustadt feel particularly annoyed by the traffic running through the town centre. Attractiveness and development possibilities of the town centre are adversely affected by this traffic load.

One possibility to reduce this nuisance is the connection of an existing commercial road with the regional main road network. The Consultant determined and evaluated the effects of this possibility on the traffic situation.

A one-day traffic survey including traffic censuses and roadside interviews formed the basis for the elaboration of a traffic model (VISUM) for motorised individual traffic. Following a traffic forecast, the effects of a new road connection were examined and evaluated and recommendations for the future project design were deduced.
