DESCPRIPTION OF PROJECT
The city of Torgau has two independent sewer networks that are separated by the receiving river "Schwarzer Graben". On the basis of the existing drainage master plan, the Consultant should update the existing combined sewer system Torgau-West in line with the latest state of the art.

Main project measures included:
  • Construction of 3 tank sewers DN 2,200 with bottom relief
  • Replacement of the entire sewerage network in the area of the receiving river "Schwarzer Graben"
  • Direct delivery of wastewater from the separate sewer system to the sewage treatment plant Torgau.
PROJECT COMPONENTS AND
TECHNICAL DATA
  • Laying of 2,060 m of sewer pipes
  • 2,500 m sewage force main PE-HD, 250 x 22,7 mm
  • Crossing of railway tracks using the shield driving method with a jacking pipe DN 1,600 on a length of 45 m
  • Construction of 3 relief structures (~ 20 m x 4 m x 5 m) with fine screen and electrical discharge control
  • Rehabilitation of 350 m of egg-shaped sewer (1,000/1,500) underneath railway tracks, partly using pipe lining technology
  • Rehabilitation of manholes with diameters up to DN 2,000
  • Installation of a flushing device for the cleaning of sewers in times of dry weather
  • Construction of 10 special structures with diameters up to DN 3,000
  • Setting up of electrical, instrumentation & control technology for the fully automatic operation of the flushing and relief devices
  • Long-distance data transmission to the control room at the sewage treatment plant Torgau using control cable systems
  • Construction of a wastewater pumping station
