DESCPRIPTION OF PROJECT The road link Obouya-Boundji-Okoyo-Lékéty-Gabonese border has a length of 205 km and is destined to strengthen regional integration, especially through an exchange with neighbouring countries. It represents the principal traffic artery toward Gabon from the South-North road axis Brazzaville-Ngo-Owando-Ouesso. In addition, it will open up the Department of Cuvette by enabling a better goods and passenger transportation from and to the country's capital city. The project generally aims to provide the Congo with a reliable, modern and diversified road network ensuring an optimum circulation of people and goods from the North to the South and from the East to the West. It forms part of the various reconstruction and upgrading measures currently underway throughout the country. The specific aims of the mission include: (i.) ensure the construction work to be carried out in compliance with internationally acknowledged standards, within the prescribed due-dates and without exceeding the allocated budget as laid down in the works contract; (ii.) guarantee the sustainability of both the project and the financial investment by making sure that the work is carried out to high quality standards and well adapted to local traffic conditions and topographic features; (iii.) make sure that by the end of the project, the Client has available reliable as-built drawings enabling him to carry out future maintenance work under optimum conditions.
