DESCPRIPTION OF PROJECT
Preparation of a master plan for the City of Riyadh to ensure an effective and sustainable use of treated sewage effluent (TSE) and other sources of reclaimed water. The aim is to take advantage of the significant and increasing amount of TSE in order to reduce the input of freshwater resources.

Potential users and uses of TSE include:
  • Agriculture (irrigation)
  • Industry (e.g. as cooling water)
  • Municipal gardening and cleaning
  • Groundwater recharge.
Main activities included the development of options, preparation of preliminary design studies and cost estimates.
PROJECT COMPONENTS AND
TECHNICAL DATA
