DESCPRIPTION OF PROJECT
Nha Trang is a coastal city and booming tourist town in Central Vietnam with a population of some 400,000 inhabitants. Investment in waste water, pollution control and waste management is lagging far behind the pace of its economic growth.

The overall project forms part of the "Coastal Cities Environmental Sanitation Project (CCESP)" financed by the World Bank (IDA).

The objective of the present assignment is to assist the Project Management Unit for the Nha Trang City Environmental Sanitation Project (ESP-PMU) in the following tasks:
  • Review of the existing pre-feasibility, feasibility study including some other design documents
  • Component 2: Inventory, option study, planning and design, preparation of tender documents for two wastewater treatment plants with final capacities of 20,000 and 60,000 m³/d
  • Component 3a: Solid waste management and logistics, design of transfer stations and collection points, selection and tendering of waste collection vehicles and equipment (total waste collection area: about 30 km²)
  • Component 3b: Planning and design of the closure of the existing landfill, design of the extension of a new landfill incl. leachate treatment facilities
  • Elaboration of tender and contract documents for PPP service contracts for septage and solid waste collection.
