Fichtner Water & Transportation was commissioned with the technical assistance during the tendering of services as well as with the supervision of the construction of a sewage treatment plant for 140,000 inhabitants including pumping station and conduits in the agribusiness park of Beni-Mellal. The wastewater treatment included pre-treatment (screening plant, sand trap and grease separator), primary wastewater treatment in Imhoff tanks, secondary treatment via trickling filters and maturation ponds for the tertiary treatment. The sludge treatment was effected by sludge digestion in Imhoff tanks and sludge drying in drying beds.
